What it does

The Settings skill lets sideBar read and update your profile and app preferences directly from Chat. You can ask sideBar to update your name, job title, or location, change how it communicates with you, swap the app theme, or adjust other preferences like temperature units, all without leaving the conversation.

When sideBar uses it

When you ask sideBar to read or change something about your profile or app settings. Common triggers:
  • Updating your profile (“Change my job title to X”)
  • Adjusting how sideBar works with you (“Switch to a more formal communication style”)
  • Changing the app appearance (“Switch to dark mode”)
  • Updating preferences (“Change weather to Fahrenheit”)

Requirements

  • Tier: Standard (included, no installation needed)
  • API key: None required

How to enable

The Settings skill is enabled by default. To toggle it, go to Settings → Skills.
