# Settings

## What it does

The Settings skill lets sideBar read and update your profile, personal
preferences, and device-local preferences directly from Chat. You can ask
sideBar to update your name, job title, or home location, change how it
communicates with you, swap the app theme, or adjust preferences like
temperature units, all without leaving the conversation.

## Actions

| Action | Description |
| --------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Profile & Preferences | Reads and updates your profile details, personal context, communication style, and profile photo |
| Set UI theme | Switches the app between light and dark mode |
| Device Preferences | Updates device-local preferences such as temperature units and biometric lock |
