# Account

## Creating an Account

Open sideBar and tap **Create Account**. Enter your email address and follow
the verification link sent to your inbox. Once verified, you are signed in and
ready to set up your AI provider. See [Getting Started](/manual/getting-started)
for the full setup walkthrough.

## Signing In

Tap **Sign In** on the welcome screen and enter your email and password. If
you have biometric lock enabled, you will be prompted for Face ID or Touch ID
the next time you open the app after it has been in the background.

## Signing Out

Go to **Settings → Profile** and tap **Sign out** at the bottom of the
section. Signing out removes your account data from the device but does not
delete your account or any of your content. Everything syncs back when you
sign in again.

## Changing Your Email

Email changes are handled by support. Email
[support@trysidebar.ai](mailto:support@trysidebar.ai) from your current
account email address and we will update it for you.

## Deleting Your Account

To permanently delete your account and all associated data, email
[support@trysidebar.ai](mailto:support@trysidebar.ai) from your account email
address and request deletion. We may ask you to verify your identity first.
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. We may retain limited records
where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.
